DC gets 5/5 from iDJ!
This is the second drum and bass sample cd from Loopmasters, this time by respected producer and owner of BS1 records, Davide Carbone.
Although the name might sound a bit haughty to some, one listen to the quality of the material available here and it becomes clear that this is indeed a mastercalass on how to construct a sample cd.
Being a DnB resource, the drums are naturally the prime focus, and this is where the title trumps everything else available. Recorded and engineered at Delicious Digital studios, the wide range of kits gigve this section great variety, while the subtle nuances of the grooves echo the human touch of the sampled drum breaks that are so common in drum and bass.
Quite simply the the samples here are amazing, offering a crispness and vibrancy that few can match.
As you'd expect, the loops are broken into hits for individual use, so the scope of these drums is infinite, and they could be used just as well in a hip hop, funk or breaks track.
Other elements in the equation include a broad section of bass loops, hits and multis;pads, fx and hits; keys and some fine horm loops, all adding up to one of the most innovative and adaptable sample discs on the market, and one that should prove to be as popular as Flytronix's pioneering 'Jungle Warfare' series. 5/5
