Ray Keith Original Jungle Drum & Bass Vol.1 - Review by Computer Music

Ray Keith: both his thunderous productions and shiny dome have dazzled many a raver.  Can we say that? Who cares – this pack is great!  You get 377MB of beefed-up old school breaks, some twisted newer material, plenty of harsh basses – including some recreations of Keith classics – and a pleasing smattering of FX.

There’s nothing particularly original here, but if you’re into this style of DnB and you’re after a punchy toolkit to fix up your productions, it’ll fit the bill.  Just remember to ignore all of the stick you’ll get on the drum n’ bass forums if you end up using any of the more recognizable samples!  More seriously, in a genre where recycling is the order of the day, this partial nostalgia trip is something that could actually come in very handy!

Verdict: 8/10
