Drum Machines 02 - Computer Music Review

Here we have samples from four drum machines: Roland TR-808 and TR-909, Drumfire DF-2000 and MFB Schlagzwerg. The result is 1513 24-bit samples with nine sampler patches. In addition to a full set of clean samples, the 808 and 909 samples have also been processed using desirable hardware, including saturation courtesy of Empirical Lab’s FATSO.

To make the most of Drum Machines 2, we had to venture beyond the quite basic sampler patches and seek out many variations. Admittedly, much of this pack is old ground revisited, but that doesn’t preclude the sounds from being highly useful and relevant.

Verdict: 9/10
