DJ Mag Review: House Builds And Breakdowns

This month we take a look at Push Button Bang’s utility sample pack ‘House Builds and Breakdowns’, a collection of samples to give your tracks that extra production flair with crescendos and climaxes to give that peak-time hands in the air moment.

This sample pack features 1.2gigs of FX, melodies, tonal sounds and rhythm loops which have been created to help deliver epic builds or drop points in your musical arrangements, but users are not just limited to using ‘House Builds & Breakdowns’ just in musical productions as the pack lends itself nicely to DJs and performances, especially if using Ableton Live or the sample banks in Traktor and Serato.

The pack is broken down into sections – FX, Tonal and Rhythmic – with all the samples offering the types of sounds and noises that would go to make up huge epic breakdowns. Instantly creating dance floor tensions on the fly is easy using the elements of the pack, and the pack isn’t just confined to one genre. The loops on offer range from two to 64 bars in length, with tempos at 126 and 128 BPM, and come in the now usual formats.

Verdict: 7/10
