Keys.de Review: Electro House Revolution by Mutekki
The steadily growing Electro House genre makes a few steps forward towards Techno. All familiar House elements have been replaced by modern and fresh sounds. Instruments responsible for the sounds only include (analogue) synthesizers – even 909 sounds can’t be distinguished in the beats. Similar to the Minimal genre, multifaceted synth percussions and effects are employed here. Sounds of Revolution for this library again stays true to its principles and offers a huge pool of add-on-loops, percussions and synthesizer sounds that are geared to a certain stylistic. Drum loops, single drum and synth sounds as well as effect sounds make up the core of this sample pool. Furthermore also basses, chords, vocals, percussions and scratches are offered.
Looking at the loops, synth loops and basslines are a bit left out, in contrast there are even more drum loops involved. Next to well-proven add-on-loops that allow to add kick, snare and hihats as one sees fit, there are even diverse loop-mini-kits for complete drummings. All loops are on a common tempo of 127 bpm and are available in WAV, Apple Loops and REX formats. This library offers a multitude of synth sounds for your own hooks. There are no multi-samples, but for Electro House it usually doesn’t need any big tonal jumps anyway. SOR offers mappings for all samples in Kontakt2 and EXS24 format, which is very useful in regards to the mass of single sounds. Sound-wise the samples and sounds are rather rough. Despite the comprehensive offering, synth FX and lo-fi character dominate. That’s why the library appears a little one-dimensional despite its numerous sound categories. By all means intentional, as the sub genre Electro House does not allow much scope. In light of the big content of about 1 GB (WAV) there should be no need for further Electro House samples for the time being.
