EQTV.DJ review: Trevor Loveys - Deep In House
In 2000 Trevor Loveys met up with Dave Taylor and started working on various projects together, the most successful of which was to become the renowned Switch. This collaboration yielded some of the most distinctive house sounds of the decade, a sound which has been dissected and laid bare on the new Loopmasters sample pack.
As always, there really is a wide range of options for the user. With various sampler formats on offer - EXS24, HALION, KONTAKT, NNXT, SFZ and REX - you have a wealth of choices from which to control and effect each sample. And if you're a fan of Trevor's sound, you won't be disappointed as this includes all the elements from his past and present work. The package has been labelled Deep In House, but Trevor's take on deep is a bit different from what you might expect. He's a purveyor of bass music, and here he has created 12 different types of bass ranging from the classic pure house bass to the nastiest of saw-wave basses. These are available in one-shot formats and also in a range of keys. These bass sounds are then used to create various loops.
Bass is not the be all and end all though, as Trevor puts together a mean beat. These come at you as a one-shot or as part of a killer loop. The package is completed with some tripped-out, spacey FX, tight strings and various chord hits. A great all-rounder package which gives you all the singular parts needed to build a very solid track.
