Davide Carbone review from One Week to Live Mag
Finally onto the D&B scene with Dave Carbone of BS1 records. Dave is a pioneer in modern music, not just in the drum and bass scene but also making music for computer games and engineering at London’s Delicious Digital Studios.
This quality of the CD is in keeping with the others and I’m no longer surprised by the high standard of sounds that I am presented with upon opening it. These sounds are primarily modern and quite sharp sounding - there’s no real harking back to the ‘jump up’ styles of old and sounds that went with them. This is D&B for now and that can only be a good thing.
The loops are well thought out and have obviously had some considerable effort put into their creation. Good. Reminding me of a cross between Bukern’s old ‘Progression Sessions’ series and anything on Metalheadz I was wishing I had some of the sounds included here on a synth in front of me so I could play with some of the parameters They’re
those sort of sounds, quite inspirational and they got me going, if you know what I mean.
Plenty of fresh sounding drum loops, lots of hi hats and clicks and the like, and the drum loops weren’t generally made up of typical sounjds. Wicked. Dave Carbone - big up.
7/7
