Loopmasters' 'Artist Series' provides DJ's and producers with sample packs that are intended for use in the specific genres that they are targeted to. It's proven a great revamp to an often non-inspiring selection of sample libraries created by boffins who are not on the frontline of cutting-edge dance music. Taking this philosophy one step further, Loopmasters have joined up with leading drum and bass label Shogun Audio to bring two major players of the scene together to collaborate on a truly floor-smashing pack: Friction and Icicle, who, between them, have more than enough production credits to name here.
'Shogun Audio Drum & Bass Vol.1' is a meaty pack with just under a GB of sounds, offering 104 loops and 676 one-shots samples. There are 27 speaker-wreaking bass loops, around 40 tight moving drum loops and eight bonus classic breaks for all rave lovers in the house, as well as a collection of instant track-inspiring synth loops. For producers who are a bit more musically savvy, there are bass tones and instrument samples to create riffs and basslines, the usual array of FX and over 250 single drum samples to programme beat sequences. Being Vol.1, expect some more in the series of releases via Shogun and Loopmasters. Available in the now usual formats, 'Shogun Audio Drum & Bass' is a must for producers into D&B, Dubstep, Breaks or Electronica who are looking for a tasty selection of samples.
