Future Music Review: Swedish House Essentials
Another Swedes inspired pack that - while having nothing to do with the work of Ingrosso, Angello and Axwell - goes a significant way to serving up the same recipe for chart bound excitement. Taking gems from a multitude of genres there's big high frequency splashy FX, mighty chiming synth chords and - interestingly - lots and lots of over-excited bendy synths and even a smattering of Minimal pops and clicks for the sake of completeness. Part Tribal, part Trance the synths and beats on offer do gel together nicely and any combination produces uplifting, commercial House with an irrepressible shiny 'Pop' sheen. There 900MB of hits and loops with every bass, drum and synth given clear naming and equal emphasis. There are a few questionable inclusions that are a little wide of the mark but the great drum shots alone nail this one for us. It may be that you're looking for an injection of commerciality into your otherwise lack-luster tunes. If so this is the big bold pack you need.
