Jon Carter & Alex Blanco - Block Party Essentials

Loopmasters are very proud to present their latest block rocking sample collection fresh from the studios of two of dance music’s leading luminaries – Jon Carter and Alex Blanco aka Roosevelt High!

Jon Carter has exported his own particular brand of quality madness to the four corners of the globe for over 15 years. He rose to prominence as a resident of the era-defining Heavenly Social in 1994, playing legendary weekly sessions alongside the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim.

Alongside his Monkey Mafia project Jon has recorded under many different guises - Junior Cartier, Joe Schmoe and Artery to name just three. His impressive remix CV includes such high profile commissions as U2, The Beach Boys, Manic Street Preachers, The Prodigy, The Beastie Boys and both The Stone Roses AND The Happy Mondays amongst many others.

In over 15 years of professional DJing and production, Alex Blanco has worked with, produced, and remixed such names as Seb Fontaine, Simon Dale, Just Jack, Simply Red, Gabriella Cilmi, Out Of Office, Oliver Lang, Deepgroove and far too many more to mention.

A chance meeting between Jon and Alex in Ibiza and the ensuing studio sessions gave birth to a new breed of uptempo dance music, starting with Stevie’s Drop, blending their shared love of chunky, rolling ragga beats and good-time party music. A string of Radio 1 plays and support from the likes of Toddla T, has ensured early success for their new project.

A DJing partnership came next, at their highly popular new night, Block At The Lock, with a full-on live show the next logical step. All they needed was a name, and what better than Roosevelt High - named after the high school in the Bronx, whose gym played host to up to a hip-hop crowd of 4,000 party-people at a time in the early 80s.

Within this authentic and original sample collection you should expect to find over 650Mb of content including more than 200 Loops and 268 single sounds with tempos of between 105 and 130 BPM.  In total there are more than 65 Heavy Bass loops, 50+ Live Breakbeats, 50+ Digital Breaks, 150 Single Drum Samples, 79 FX hits, 17 Vox FX loops from MC Rani Punani and 26 Ready to pay patches for Halion, Kontakt, EXS, SFZ and Reason NNXT samplers.

Please Note: When selecting the appropriate download version for your requirements the Zip (Main) format includes Acidised Wav and Rex2 Loops – all single (non looping) sounds and Sampler Patches for Kontakt, Halion, Nnxt, Exs24  soft samplers. Reason Refill, Ableton Live Packs and Apple Loops are not included, and must be purchased where available as a separate downloads. Apple Loops packs also include any single hits and EXS patches where applicable.

I was really impressed by the drum loops and percussion-type grooves in this collection. Great for ghetto-ing up any track and perfect in this day and age of electicism and crossed boundaries, especially in dance music.. Single hits also provide a good workout and producers in the ghetto house and UK bass genres should get loads of inspiration from this pack.

For me, it's all about the fx, digital breaks, basslines and lead basslines on this sample pack - but everything else is extremely cool too - inspiring stuff!
