The Juno-6  is a 6-voice polyphonic synth. It has digital oscillators with analog filters and a lovely lush analog chorus. Its sound has been described as warm and full. Originally I was going to incorporate this synth as part of FatsoSynths Vol 2.  However it became obvious early on that this synth, through the UBK Fatso deserved its own product... thus the FatJuno-6 was born.  The majority of the sounds were captured with the chorus on... this proved to be problematic when creating sustain loops, but well worth the effort!  Some of the sustain loops aren't as perfect as I would like because of this... but the payoff is that I was able to capture the wide, warm, wonderful chorus sound!

What is the UBK Fatso? Well...  it has the same tone-sweetening characteristics and features of the classic Fatso... harmonic thickening, tape-like saturation, independent ‘warmth’ control to soften high frequency harshness,  plus...  The UBK mod done by Kush Audio.  Greg's wonderful compression tweaks make this a unique and useful magic box!  The UBK Fatso... I love it!!!!

For a bit of variation some of the samples were recorded with extra processing as well as the fatso.  The Mutronics Mutator gave some of the samples that stereo analog swish that the mutator is famous for!  It's by far my favourite filter!  Plus the EMU E4XT helped  out some of the sounds

Kontakt and EXS-24 are powerful and creative samplers and can operate much like synths...  This is why I have included the raw oscillator sounds  (with Fatso love of course). I also had that in mind when creating the patches on the Juno-6. So what you have is a great tool kit of fantastic raw material for creating your own synth patches... all with the flavour of a Juno-6 recorded through a UBK Fatso!

Usage Tips:

I have supplied a enough patches to give you an idea of what is possible with these samples.  So don't be shy... get in there and start tweaking.  Experimentation is the mother of invention.  Use the wheel!  A lot of patches use the Mod Wheel to control the filter... Play dynamically...  in some of the patches velocity controls the filter.  Plenty of these sounds are huge and contain a lot of bass!  This is great for making huge bass lines and upfront leads. However you might want to make room for other instruments by EQing... sometimes less is more... Some of the Kontakt instruments... especially in the layered folder may use a lot of the computers CPU.  If your computer is struggling try changing the 'HQI' mode to 'standard'.  You can find this setting in the 'Source' module.

Be warned that using this product may make you want to buy a real Juno-6 and UBK Fatso!
