Ross Wakefield and Toby Vane (as they’re known to the taxman) harnessed their shared influences, ranging from Public Enemy and Joe Cocker to Elbow and Nick Drake, and began to create their own unique supersonic sound. They invited selected friends and musicians to bring more of a live element to their recordings, including newcomers Jono McCleery (Music Weeks ‘Best Unsigned Act of 2005’), Lucy Kitchen, Bridgette Amofah (Oi Va Voi), Pete Simpson (Elektrons), BBC Jazz award winner and Ronnie Scotts’ fave Liane Carroll (London Elektricity) and Laura Vane (MJ Cole, Hardkandy). 2006 saw the duo release their debut recording, the ‘Realise’ EP, earning them global critical acclaim, and radio rotation from Zane Lowe, Mr Scruff, Ras Kwame, and Benji B, amongst others. Indeed, Gilles Peterson became the duo’s number one champion, inviting them to record a live session at Maida Vale Studios. By the end of the year the Heroes had landed themselves two nominations at the BBC Worldwide Awards and things were starting to hot up!

    Dub & Reggae Sirens

    Rating: 7/10

Always on the lookout for decent and varied spot FX, so this will come in super handy! More of the same please.

A really tasty pack. For producers that want to make their tunes as authentic as possible, but don't have the budget or access to players to hit the nail on the head, then this is a answer to a fair few problems.

  • Obviously fairing niche, but this pack contains some really great content to add that all important texture that's so prevalent in a lot of edgy electronica today. Definitely worth a look!

    Simply House Drums

Exactly as it says on the tin. Very clean, very, simple, but above all, a very useful tool for aspiring house producers. The kits are superb!

    UK Deep House

    Rating: 7/10

Liking this pack! Some fantastic musical loops, great hits and one shots, but the most useful aspect of this pack (in my opinion) is the drums. Well worth the purchase and plenty of opportunity to experiment within your own productions.

A very nicely put together package. Anyone looking for a sprinkle of grit and some authentically earthy edge to their productions should get involved with this one. Beautifully constructed drum loops that will prove useful across a wide variety of electronic genres. Well played!

Like this one a lot. Very simple, but straight to the point. Everything on it is really useful. Tight drums and some fantastic stabs too. A one stop shop for emergency beat making!

    Ultimate Hip Hop 2

    Rating: 8/10

Nearly as good as Vol. 1. More great drum hits and some lovely stabs on this one too. The breaks are super clean and really authentic. A bit more contemporary too, so a handy progression from Vol.1

    Ultimate Hip Hop

Some great sounds in here. Have had lots of fun experimenting with them. Useful across a lot of genres.

Really enjoyed this one. Learned a few nice new tricks, plus it's very useful for producers who are often up against it time wise and want to quickly audition a few options.

Lots of great sounds in this one. Definitely highly recommended for people just getting their head round Massive. If you need a quick, authentic solution then I'd reach for this. Look forward to more!

Very nice indeed. Had loads of fun with this little lot. A nice lot of variation and plenty of room for exploring/creating your own sounds. I look forward to checking out more of the same, some really good ideas here.

Cracking stuff. Been having loads of fun with this recently. Lots of variation and a great selection of sounds. I highly recommend the FX and rhythm loops. Really authentic business...get stuck in!

A great idea this. As someone who's employed techniques like this for you years in my productions, I'm forever on the hunt for more textures to add to my work. This also works as a nice tool for people who want to experiment with these sorts of sounds for the first time. Could have done with some more, but that's just me! Thanks...R

Some fantastic sounds in here. Not only handy for general use, but moreover it encourages you to experiment yourself, by trying out similar channel strip settings of your own using different sounds as starting points. It's very easy to get stuck in familiar territory with your own method of working, but being presented with all of these various settings can be a huge help in getting you to follow a different direction. Looking forward to the next one!

Like this a lot! I've been a big fan of his production over the years, so it's great to find him involved with Loopmasters and get a glimpse into his studio components. I particularly dig all of the percussion loops.

Absolutely love this pack. Definitely going to have loads of fun with it. The stand out feature is all of the glitch FX. There's some truly fantastic samples in here and you can get stuck straight in without having to program it all yourself. A little lazy I know, but we're allowed to be sometimes eh?!

Great pack. A really nice cross-section of sounds. Easy to use and they achieve a super authentic end product. Highly recommended and look forward to more.
