Here's something we don't think we've come across before in the pages of cm: 50s-style rock 'n' roll construction kits. The gamut of sounds from the era are represented, from doo-wop and surf and to rockabilly and everything in between, and the instrumentation takes in live drums, double bass, guitar, saxophone and piano. The performances are great, the tracks follow the compositional structures of the genre without descending into pastiche, and the production is appropriately old-school.
