Latin Afro is a new collection that offers up the soulful sounds of Latin America, with 377 WAVs or Apple Loops and 533 Rex2 files. The pack is essentially made up of 14 construction kits, but the parts have been spread across different instrument folders, which is probably for the best as it encourages more experimentation with the loops. From the funky synth, electric basses and live drum grooves to the plucked guitar parts, loose and lively percussion and warm synth riffs, everything has been expertly performed and sizzles with energy. The star of the show though, is the folder of superb piano, organ, Rhodes and Wurlitzer riffs, which feature some satisfying and sophisticated chord progressions. There are plenty of drum variations, and many of the instrument riffs are over 30 seconds long, giving you lots more options for some very natural-sounding arrangements. Although the finish is a little underproduced, this arguably allows you to put more of your own stamp on the production.
