Ivor Novello-winning drummer Cassell serves up 1.16GB of live urban beats and fills at tempos from 80-175bpm, plus a clutch of drum and cymbal one-shots captured during the sessions. The man's playing is great and the production (by Delicious Digital's Ollie Raphael and Ed Moris) is deep and dark - throaty snares ( a little too throaty at times), fulsome kicks and ticky hats. The most interesting stuff, though, comes with the addition of various "trash" metal sounds, and beatboxer Faith SFX, whose percussive and melodic mouthings are layered in over the kit to truly spectacular effect.
