This, the first in a four part series, is LOA's latest go-to collection of sweet soul samples, and the sh*t is dope son!  Off the bat the drums splash and pop, and generally get necks snapping. The super warm horns and rock solid basslines feel ripped straight out of a fly-ass blaxploitation flick.  Elsewhere the mood in the room hits that classic Winehouse/Ronson-era soul strut, with smokey club vibes springing to mind as you rifle through the 88-97bpm loops on offer. Plenty to tickle your sampler with, if you want that no fakin' funk to fill out your next hip-hop and downbeat banger with. Volumes 2-4 will drop over the next six months. Can't wait.
