Horns have been a bedrock of boom bap beatmaking since Pete Rock, the Golden Age, and well before. They've always sounded best, though, when sampled straight from wax, plucked from the context of a stacked funk groove, standalone loops, or watery synth replays always lack impact and charm. Thankfully this crop of badass brass sounds like it's been lifted from a vintage muted desk, inside a serious session. The sizzling six and honking horns are Dap or Haggis levels of proper. Basically, stick a beat on this and we're done.
