LP24’s mission is to empower and inspire music creators. This has driven us to build the largest, most comprehensive collection of direct-from-tape sounds for Xfer Serum.

After 2 years of dedication to this project, we have done everything possible to give you the reel feel of analog tape, with all of its irregularity, saturation, flutter, noise, and hazy warm texture right inside Serum!

The journey:

With tools in hand (Moog Voyager XL, Alesis Andromeda, Roland Juno 106, Korg MS-20, acoustic pianos, nylon guitars, koto, bells, chimes, tube preamps, analog tape machines, cassette decks, VHS recorders, micro cassettes, analog compressors, guitar pedals and more) we crafted an unbelievably vast set of keys, leads, pads, synths, sequences, bass, organics, drums, effects, and textures.

We recorded hours on end of beautiful sounds, each recorded to various tape machines first (lots of mojo), but we didn’t stop there! We programmed each preset to embrace classic tuning warbles, tape noise/hiss, dynamic saturations, and lofi electronic bit depth. Further, we applied effects and assigned all 4 macros to the most useful parameters.

In summary:

This collection is inspired by the greatest sonics from the greatest artists of all time. It is vast and there are many avenues to discover while exploring ANALOG TAPES. Whether you produce lofi, hip-hop, house, ambient, experimental, glitch, neo-classical, soundtracks, downtempo, etc. there will be a whole lot of vibe and texture to fit your creative style.

The sonics in ANALOG TAPES are inspired by the best musicians, synth programmers, producers, composers of all time. Some influencers of this collection include, however are not limited to: Boards of Canada, Bonobo, Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnolds, Rival Consoles, Philip Glass, Blankfor.ms, Tycho, James Blake, Katrynada, Brian Eno, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith…

Every sound heard in the ANALOG TAPES audio demo is included in this pack. The exception being a few drum loops, but even most of the drum sounds are included as Serum Presets. We recommend having the latest version of Serum to get the most out of this stunning collection.
