From the title down to the Mezzanine-esque album cover, this pack trades hard off the Massive Attack brand. Drummer Mark Fletcher, might not actually be associated with the Bristol trip-hoppers, but he knows a thing or two about the kind of drum samples they've dug over the years. These loose, rolling, hip-hoppy licks, normally found nestled in vintage jazz and funk records, are recreated here with skill, love and poise. The chunky kicks, snapping snares and tight rolls all form an excellent library, alongside full, crisp brush and hat loops and golden era breaks. The bedrock of your next Massive masterpiece.
