Shoegaze has that washed-out, hazy feel you want from the genre - big guitars, soft-edged drums, and a lot of atmosphere. It’s easy to get a full “wall of sound” going quickly, but it also works well for indie rock or dream-pop layers when you just need some shimmer and space in the background.
